Team LRRCT Walks To Help Fight Canine Cancer!

On November 7 in New Milford, CT, Team LRRCT participated in the 2 Million Dogs walk to raise money and awareness for canine cancer. Despite the blustery cold, we had a great turnout with both volunteers and adopters on the team, along with their own labs and even our blind boy Kip sporting his snazzy "Adopt Me" vest! Everyone was well-behaved with tails a-wagging and it was a great day! Thank you so much to everyone who walked with us and/or donated to the cause. Check out our team photo below!

LRRCT Rescued Lab Featured on New Stamp Series for 2010

Beginning in April, the US Postal Service will be featuring a series of stamps with rescued cats and dogs on them as part of a campaign to encourage the adoption of shelter and rescued animals. The adorable yellow lab puppy on one of them is none other than rescued lab Trevor adopted 3 years ago from us by Michael Decker and Ralph Wilson from CT! Trevor, along with his 5 siblings, was abandoned at a construction site at 6 weeks of age. A Good Samaritan walking her own lab found them and surrendered them to LRRCT where they were all fostered and subsequently adopted. A special "thank you" to the photographer, Sally Anderson Bruce of New Milford, CT whose heartwarming photos capture the gentle spirit of all of these animals. Her work has special meaning because Sally has always rescued her own companion dogs. The stamps can be purchased in the post office or ordered online at
